There is a newly opened shop where we live that on the very first day stocked all kinds of sanitary and household goods. I asked them for a sewing kit and they had it. A few days later, I needed a hammer and they had it. We wanted a beach umbrella and surprisingly they had that too. I must say, it was pretty easy for us to shop from the store next to our place. They remained in that location for a year and then I discovered that they had closed the store for good. I talked to a staff member from that shop one day and he told me an unfortunate story of that shop. He mentioned that when we first opened, we had daily customers but soon we lost most of them. Their store was located far from the main road and while passers-by could read the sign but their biggest issue was the lack of marketing. I believe the read-scan provided sufficient justification for why they stopped advertising completely. The store did not have a banner, display stand, frame, any form of outdoor marketing, and as a result, lost all customers. These issues were the main reasons that caused them to close their store.
That was devastating, but perhaps it taught them that shops could open out to the street and that there should be proper marketing and advertising to make sure that the business runs smoothly.
